What is the Future Fee?

The production and transportation of industrial goods are causes for the climate crisis. Many companies are already helping us to do something about it. But we kids need to do more to save the future. And we find that companies should unite in their industry to overcome the competition and work together for our goals.

In May 2011, opened a huge opportunity: The company Buhler, producer of cocoa processing machines, invites its customers from around the world and Felix as a speaker. The idea was developed that each manufacturer could invest one euro for each ton of chocolate as some kind of sustainability tax - equivalent to 0.1 per mill (0.01 percent) of their annual turnover.

The idea for the Future Fee is born!

The flop

In his presentation, Felix uses the opportunity to present the Future Fee. He calls chocolate manufacturers to voluntarily donate 0.1 per mill of their annual turnover, which are then invested in the planting of trees and in the global organization of Academies for children.

Despite two appeals not a single industry representative wanted to participate. The disappointment is huge.

The success

In January 2012 Plant-for-the-Planet is invited to the New Year's reception of the SG Network, the Sweets Global Network. Felix receives another chance to convince the confectionery industry of the Future Fee. It worked!
A dozen representatives come to Felix on the stage and commit themselves voluntarily to invest in the Future Fee.
Bahlsen, Becks Cocoa, Brandt, Buhler, Choclats Halba, Chocri, Trolli, Heilemann, Pit Hoffmann, Sweet Tec, SR Distribution and Zotter.

In February 2012 Plant-for-the-Planet's Felix holds a speech at the MMM Congress in Munich. Even more companies make a Future Fee commitment!

Among them are Zott, Ehrmann, Heads!, targetmedia, BrandLogistics.NET and DMV Diedrichs Markenvertrieb.

Last years flop inspired us children to develop our own chocolate the way we think that all products of the world should be produced:
fair and carbon neutral.
