For our Academies, we are looking for main and co-moderators who support children in becoming Climate Justice Ambassadors and taking their future into their own hands.
Academies are one-day events with 60–80 children, each conducted by two to five moderators/speakers and one to two already-trained Climate Justice Ambassadors.
In the Plant-for-the-Planet Academies, children aged 9 to 14 learn important facts about the causes and effects of the climate crisis. Already-trained children inspire the Academy participants. During the course of the Academy, the children plant their first trees and plan their own actions to raise awareness about climate justice among other children and adults, motivating them to take action. At the end of the day, the participants are ceremoniously appointed as Climate Justice Ambassadors and welcomed into the worldwide Plant-for-the-Planet network.
Each Academy is led by a team of moderators — from setup to dismantling. Main and co-moderators conduct central modules of the Plant-for-the-Planet Academy and ensure the smooth running of the event.
To become a main or co-moderator for Plant-for-the-Planet, you should be interested in environmental issues and the climate crisis, and be enthusiastic about working with children. You should also be communicative, independent, and responsible, with an open-minded personality. The only requirement to moderate is participation in a moderator training or accompanying an Academy.
The full-day Academies mainly take place on Saturdays across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, particularly in the months of March to May and September to November.

For each Academy day, you will receive an expense allowance. Travel and, if necessary, accommodation costs are covered by Plant-for-the-Planet. Details will be discussed individually.
