Information for the Youth Summit 2023

The Youth Summit is coming again!

This year’s Youth Summit will take place in the beautiful city of Frankfurt am Main, Germany, from October 4th to 8th, 2023. The event will bring together young people from around the world to discuss the urgent issue of climate finance and its crucial role in achieving a sustainable future. As you know, one of the key issues that we face in addressing the climate crisis is the challenge of climate finance. To limit global warming to 1.5°C, greenhouse gas emissions must decline by 45% by 2030. Will the world manage?

At the COP 27 in Sharm el-Sheikh, it was highlighted that a global transformation to a low-carbon economy is expected to require investments of at least USD 4-6 trillion a year. What will it take to deliver such funding? What does “a swift and comprehensive transformation of the financial system and its structures and processes” really mean? These are some of the critical questions that will be discussed during the Youth Summit. Working in collaboration with the Evangelische Akademie Frankfurt, this year’s Youth Summit will offer a range of activities, including:

  • Panel discussions and inspiring keynote speeches featuring experts in climate science, policy, low carbon economy and much more.
  • Skill-building sessions and interactive workshops to learn about climate finance challenges, models of implementation and creative collaborative solutions
  • Opportunities to network and collaborate with other youth climate activists from around the world
  • Creative working groups and think tanks to explore new campaigns and projects to spread within our global community.
And the best part? Together, we will make our voices and efforts heard. As a group we will collaborate on meaningful projects to present our results to world leaders, key decision-makers and stakeholders in the field. Our accomplishments will bring perspectives from youth, their demands to our leaders and suggestions to financially ensure a sustainable future.
