Dr Anna Gee
Project Manager,
Forest Restoration and Conservation

Dr Anna Gee is a restoration ecologist with a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford and a PhD from Imperial College London. At Plant-for-the Anna is responsible for strengthening the ecological quality of restoration projects led by partner organisations in Mexico and Ghana. Her work includes analysing ecological data, supporting long-term restoration strategy, leading the Restoration Advice Service for grassroots organisations worldwide, and contributing to the development and field review of Plant-for-the-Planet’s Restoration Standards.
Her doctoral research focused on the ecological barriers to natural recovery in degraded tropical dry forests. Her experience spans forest restoration research in Scotland, Peru, Bonaire, and Mexico, and she brings a cross-scale perspective shaped by work in both ecosystem restoration and molecular and genetic plant science. Anna first engaged with Plant-for-the-Planet in February 2022 while conducting PhD fieldwork at the Yucatán restoration site in Mexico, where she spent a total of 1.5 years between 2022 and 2025. She has been working full time at the Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation since May 2025.
