Why should you buy Fairtrade chocolate?
By purchasing Fairtrade products, you promote both fair trading practices and better living and working conditions for workers and smallholder farming families, as well as support environmentally sustainable cultivation.
The Fairtrade seal marks products that come from fair trade and whose production meets specific social, environmental, and economic criteria. For The Change Chocolate (Die Gute Schokolade), only cocoa and sugar grown according to these criteria are purchased.
This enables smallholder cooperatives to receive more stable prices and maintain long-term trading relationships. Both farmers and plantation workers also receive an additional Fairtrade premium for community projects. The standards also include criteria for democratic organizational structures, environmental protection, and safe working conditions.
