PartNER SCHOOL

Embedding climate justice and empowerment in everyday school life
The climate crisis is the greatest global challenge of our time. For young people, it is not an abstract statistic, but a defining question about their future. Schools are key spaces to explore these challenges, understand global connections, and take constructive action.

Why become a partner school?

Although children and youth are not today’s decision-makers, they are the one of the most affected by the long-term consequences of the climate crisis. Ensuring their right to participation and active engagement is a matter of intergenerational justice.

Our partnership means:

Clear orientation and knowledge
We make climate justice understandable and age-appropriate.
Opportunities to take action
Students are not only informed, but empowered to become active.
Peer-to-peer learning
Our approach makes it easy and motivating to engage with climate justice.

The programme: Three years of impact

The partnership is designed for an initial period of three years to establish lasting structures for climate action at your school.

The programme includes:

Ambassadors studying together by Plant for the Planet

Plant-for-the-Planet School Workshops

Once per school year, we run workshops for grades 5 to 7 — optionally supported by local coordinators.
Ambassadors doing an activity by Plant for the Planet

Plant-for-the-Planet Academy

Once during the partnership, students take part in a full-day, cross-school event where they are trained as Climate Justice Ambassadors.

Plant-for-the-Planet Mentorship

We provide ongoing support through mentorship groups and help integrate students into climate or Fairtrade clubs, as well as further programmes and annual Children’s conferences.

Our Vision: Empowerment instead of helplessness

As a partner school, you offer your students more than theoretical knowledge.
You give them the tools to face the climate crisis with confidence and competence. We support you in equipping young people with the skills and knowledge they need to take action and shape their future.

Our partnership

A partnership means trust-based collaboration on equal terms. Both sides contribute their strengths:
What your school contributes
A dedicated contact person responsible for the project
Implementation of school workshops and the Academy
Providing space and necessary technical equipment
Supporting active students, e.g. through climate clubs
A short annual project documentation (report/photos)
What Plant-for-the-Planet contributes
High-quality educational materials (videos, worksheets, digital library)
Teacher briefings on concepts and materials
A book package for your school library and, upon request, “The Change Chocolate”
Access to a network of schools and local coordinators
Training and support for mentors
Safeguarding guidelines to ensure a safe environment for all participants
Through this partnership, your school becomes a pioneer for climate justice. Your students learn to understand global connections and develop their own ideas for a fair and sustainable future.
The agreement runs for three years from signature and is automatically extended unless terminated.

I think Plant-for-the-Planet school workshops are so great, because they convey knowledge about climate change in a playful way. They don't lead to resignation – they encourage people to act together.

We have prepared all materials and look forward to starting this project together with your school, your teachers and your engaged students. Let’s take responsibility together.
