Director of Plant-for-the-Planet India

Alongside his role as Director of the Indian entity, Prem Raval works as the Senior IT Program Manager at the Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation. He plays a key role in developing the ForestCloud ecosystem for restoration and empowerment, oversees the organization's digital infrastructure – including websites, domains, and servers – and leads AI and automation initiatives from India.

Prem Raval joined Plant-for-the-Planet in 2020. As the Senior IT Program Manager he is responsible for the foundation's digital infrastructure, including its websites, domains, servers, analytics, and core IT systems. He also contributes to the development of the ForestCloud ecosystem, a suite of open-source digital tools that supports restoration projects worldwide. In addition, he leads the foundation's work on artificial intelligence and automation, identifying practical applications that improve efficiency and strengthen digital processes across the organisation.

Beyond his technical responsibilities, Prem supports international partnerships, digital communications, event management, and the development of the foundation's global engineering team. He also works closely with Plant-for-the-Planet's Climate Justice Ambassadors, helping to strengthen their engagement through digital tools and international collaboration.

As Director of ForestCloud Solutions Private Limited, Prem oversees the organisation's operations and legal compliance in India. He also serves as the Asia-Pacific Regional Focal Point for the GEF CSO Network, representing civil society organisations across the region.

Prem regularly represents Plant-for-the-Planet at international conferences and policy events. In 2023, he participated as a delegate at the UN SDG Summit at United Nations Headquarters in New York and attended Google's Tech for Social Good gathering during the UN General Assembly week. He has also spoken at the International Youth Summit in Germany and participated in the World Sustainable Development Summit in New Delhi, presenting Plant-for-the-Planet's digital solutions for ecosystem restoration to representatives from governments, academia, and civil society.
